GERALD Q. DAVISON jr.

Co-Founder & Executive Director, CARE Community

Gerald Q. Davison, Jr. is a passionate advocate for justice reform, rehabilitation, and community empowerment. With a personal journey marked by resilience and transformation, Gerald brings a wealth of experience and dedication to his role as Co-Founder and Executive Director of CARE Community.

Born in 1992, Gerald's life took a turn at the age of 16 when he was arrested and subsequently sentenced to 28 years in the Nevada Department of Corrections. Despite the challenges of incarceration, Gerald made a conscious decision to dedicate himself to personal growth, education, and positively impacting his environment.

Throughout his 16 years in prison, Gerald engaged in a variety of academic, restorative justice, and mentorship initiatives. Notably, he achieved certification as a Paralegal in 2022 and is on the verge of completing his associate's degree at Western Nevada College, where his outstanding academic performance earned him multiple scholarships.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Gerald is also pursuing a certificate of achievement in Welding Technology, equipping himself with the skills needed to establish and operate his own welding business upon his eventual release.

Gerald's commitment to personal growth extends beyond the classroom. He actively participates in counseling, studies law, and has even worked in hospice care, demonstrating his empathy and dedication to serving others within the prison community.

As the Founder of CARE, the Justice Impacted Led Critical Mentorship flagship program, Gerald is deeply invested in providing mentorship, support, and resources to individuals impacted by the justice system. Through CARE Community, he aims to foster a culture of rehabilitation, empowerment, and community reintegration.

Gerald's journey is a testament to the transformative power of determination, resilience, and second chances. His leadership and advocacy within CARE Community reflect his unwavering commitment to creating positive change and supporting individuals on their paths to success and fulfillment.
